Endureed® Synthetic Thatch

Endureed is a synthetic roof finish that allows the appearance of a traditional thatched roof.

It is manufactured in four variations that produce authentic looking thatching styles from around the world. In 2010 The Lapa Company became the exclusive European Distributor for Endureed® Synthetic Thatch products for both the UK and Europe, reflecting our years of experience with artificial thatch and commercial thatched buildings.

As an artificial thatch roofing material, Endureed is particularly suitable for commercial projects and themed structures and brings the following benefits:

  • Extremely long life expectancy particularly when compared to natural thatch products.
  • Endureed has a Class AA Fire Retardant Rating.
  • Endureed is maintenance free after installation and does not attract insects, rodents or birds.
  • Endureed is wind, rain and hail resistant and therefore also rot resistant.

Please note, Endureed is not a suitable replacemement for traditional thatching. Endureed is a sythentic roof finish 10-15mm thick that is laid over a weatherproof sub structure that is manufactured in the shape of a thatched roof. Endureed provides the appearance of a thatched roof, but is not suitable as a direct replacement for traditional thatching.

Bali

artificial thatch

A loosely tapered, slightly longer shingle designed to resemble the looser appearance of Balinese and Japanese thatching. It is typically installed using ‘Island Eave’ bends and this type of artificial thatch is used to create the look and feel of traditional ‘Island’ grass thatching.

Dominica

The wide leaf and naturally feathered palm leaf appearance of this shingle is designed to re-create the look and feel of natural palm leaf thatching. This material uses bent courses at the eave (similar to the ‘Bali’ design) to give the look of a loose palm leaf edge.

Somerset

This closely tapered synthetic fibre shingle is designed to resemble the hand-trimmed English or Irish thatching. It is typically installed with the ‘Eave Wadd’ edge material. The shingle is a light grey colour which is unique to this design, and gives it the slightly 'weathered' appearance of a country cottage.

Long Straw

A loosely tapered, long reed shingle designed to resemble the looser appearance of Balinese and Japanese thatching. This type of artificial thatch is typically installed with the ‘Island Eave’ edge material or the ‘Eave Wadd’ configuration to provide a European appearance.

Endureed® Synthetic Thatch can be seen at some of the largest themed parks in the UK, for further information regarding Endureed® Synthetic Thatch please call 01732 884030 or email info@thelapacompany.co.uk.
